![]() ![]() I'm not quite sure why, but that last little section gave me goosebumps. ![]() How did we go from him singing to him talking through some sort of alien-tuner? This is so unconventional. Is it just me or do the instrumentals sound a bit louder than Yela? Woah. His inflection is really cool kind of a whurrring flow. Annnnnnnndddddd heres the rapping I was expecting. The echoing effect is a bit much, but I really like Yela singing. Though this is drastically different from "Outer Space" it flows really well. I'm gonna chalk this weird (yet dope) one up to being an intro, you're allowed to weirdly fuck with shit on the intro ![]() One thing I am sure of though, is the production is top notch. I didn't know what to expect from his flow, but this was not it. Reminds me of the Beastie Boys or early Red Hot Chili Peppers. He hasn't said a single word yet and has already set the scene. On second thought an alien abduction isn't exactly what I had in mind. This is exactly how I expected this Yela album to start. I'm already picturing a log cabin/moonshine distillery in a dreary, backwoods swamp. Let's do this.Ĭrickets and the sound of a car pulling up a drive-way. The usual 1 Listen Review rules apply, no pausing or rewinding, just my gut reaction thoughts as I listen to the album for the first time. I got a bowl packed, my fancy headphones on and I'm wearing sweat pants. ![]()
